Microsoft Paint – Navigating Microsoft Paint
Paint is an application program that you can color, draw and edit images. You can even imagine Paint being used similar to a digital sketchpad creating simple images and artistic projects or adding designs and text to other images for example with pictures taken by a digital camera.
To access Paint, go to Start – All Programs – Accessories – Paint.
The moment Paint is running, you see a large white window on the center. Above are different menus, at the left is the tool box and below it is the options box. Below the menus, just right beside the tool box is the color box wherein you can chose different colors.
Paint contains a convenient drawing tools collection you can use. These tools can design freehand drawings and add an array of shapes to your images.
A number of tools, like the brush, line, curve and pencil lets you create an array of curved, wiggly and straight lines. The drawing depends entirely on how you move and drag your mouse.
• Try the Line tool from the toolbox:
• Select the Line tool from the toolbox.
• Above where there are different colors, select one that you like.
• Click and drag the mouse across the white area.
If you want to be more creative, like drawing some random lines:
• Select the Pencil tool from the toolbox
• Select one color from the color box above.
• Click and drag the mouse around the white area.
If you want a bigger or wider line, use the brush tool. You can even choose the thickness of the brush through the options box located below the tool box.
